Faqra Sisters

Type: Hospitality

Status: Under Development

Location: Faqra, Lebanon

Size: 12,500 sqm

Located within the mountains of Faqra, sixty kilometers from Beirut, the 1800 Sequoia development consists of 50 condominium units and five private villas. Stepping up the hillside, each villa features panoramic views at each level as the houses slowly turn toward the ocean.

The condos are situated next to the houses on a steep slope, creating privacy for a large interior courtyard. A network of footpaths provide residents year-round access to the surrounding landscape, renown for its winter skiing and summer respite.

The buildings take inspiration from the local context of Lebanese architecture and ski chalets, using a language of balconies and overhangs to create privacy and amenity.

Double height living spaces, private terraces, and privacy planters are found in all units. All residents share access to a host of hospitality programs that include an array of outdoor pools and a shared restaurant.

Maurizio Bianchi Mattioli led the Faqra Sequoia project while working as Associate Principal at Workac.
